What Do I Need To Do After A Skincare Treatment?

While some treatments do not need much aftercare, others may require additional steps to ensure swift recovery and maximum results.

For most of our skincare and anti-ageing treatments, it is important that you do not touch, pick or scratch the skin after your appointment. In the evening following your treatment, we advise you not to cleanse or use any creams, scented products, or fake tan.

We may also recommend using clean sheets on the night following a facial skin treatment. The next day you may lightly cleanse with a non-perfumed cleanser and apply an SPF, and in most cases, you can return to your regular skincare regime after 48 hours.

A handful of treatments may require slightly more or less aftercare. However, depending on your specific treatment, our skincare experts will explain this to you during your appointment, gladly answering all of your questions.

For more information regarding treatment aftercare, visit our aftercare advice page.

Are Any Of The Skincare Or Anti-Ageing Treatments Painful?

The majority of our treatments have minimal downtime and are not considered painful. However, for some of our blemish and hair reduction treatments, clients may report mild discomfort likened to a short, quick sting or a heating sensation.

We appreciate that discomfort levels vary from person to person. Therefore, our skincare specialists will ensure that you are comfortable before, during, and after your treatment.

Do I Need A Consultation?

For the majority of our treatments, you must have an initial consultation with our therapists as a patch test must be conducted prior to your first treatment session. This includes Laser and IPL treatments, Skin Peels, Electrolysis, Advanced Electrolysis, Cryopen, NeoGen SPA, and ACCOR treatments.

For other treatments, such as Medical Microdermabrasion, HydraFacial, Micro-needling and Venus Freeze treatment, no patch tests are required, and thus treatment sessions can be booked straight in. If you would like to allow some extra time for consultation on the day, please do let us know and we will be happy to accommodate.

What Happens At A Consultation?

At your consultation, our skincare experts will examine the condition of your skin and concerns, review your product use, any previous treatment history, and go through any medical history, medication, and allergies. From here, we will put together a treatment plan to determine which of our treatments are most suited to your needs, and carry out patch tests where required. This is to ensure your safety, so that we can achieve the best possible results.

What Do I Need To Do Before A Treatment?

Depending on your chosen facial or body treatment, your skincare expert will outline any additional steps to be taken prior to an appointment. This is typically discussed at your initial consultation, where you will be provided a copy of pre- and post-care advice.

For most of our facial skin treatments, please arrive at your appointment with minimal makeup. We would prefer if you came to a treatment makeup-free, however, we understand that not all clients will feel comfortable doing so.

For IPL Laser Hair Reduction, we ask that you please shave the treatment area 24 hours before arriving at your appointment. To find out more, please visit our treatments page.
